Who here loves figs?!

I can’t remember the last time I had Fig Newtons, but actual figs? Chef’s kiss!

I’m always in denial when summer starts to wind down, but figs being in season again definitely makes it hurt a little less! This Fig Margarita is the perfect late summer drink.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 oz tequila

  • 1 oz orange liqueur

  • 1/2 oz lime juice

  • 1/2 oz fig syrup

METHOD:

Add tequila, orange liqueur, lime juice and fig syrup to a cocktail shaker. Add ice, then shake until chilled.

Strain into glass filled with ice. Garnish with half a fig, and enjoy!

Fig Syrup:

Combine 1/2 cup sugar, 1/2 cup water and 1/2 cup halved figs into small sauce pan over medium heat.

Once sugar dissolves, gently mash the figs. Reduce heat to low, and simmer for 10 minutes.

Once cool, strain the syrup from the figs.

Store in an airtight container in the fridge. Syrup should last around 3-4 weeks.
