Strawberry Basil Lemon Drop

Some of you asked me for another recipe using the basil syrup I shared last week, so I quickly got to work and I couldn’t be more excited about this one! I’ve always been a big lemon drop girl and this flavor pairing is pretty elite, if I do say so myself.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 oz vodka

  • 1 oz lemon juice

  • 3-4 strawberries

  • 3/4 oz basil syrup

METHOD:

Dip rim of coupe glass in simple syrup, then into sugar. Place glass in freezer to set.

Add strawberries and lemon juice to a cocktail shaker. Muddle until berries have broken down.

Add vodka and basil syrup. Add ice, then shake until chilled.

Strain into prepped coupe glass, and enjoy!

Basil Syrup

  • 1/2 cup sugar

  • 1/2 cup water

  • 3-4 large basil leaves

Combine ingredients in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir occasionally until sugar dissolves.

Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and let simmer for 10 minutes.

Remove from heat and allow to cool completely.

Once cool, strain syrup into an airtight container and store in the fridge.
