I know everyone is excited that it’s finally peach season, but let’s not forget that it’s also time for PLUMS!
Secret time — I didn’t like plums while I was growing up. We had a tree in our backyard that was impossible to keep up with, so it was too much of a good thing when I was a kiddo.
But I sure love this Hot Honey Plum Margarita! The juiciness of the fresh plum (I used black plums) combined with the touch of heat from the hot honey is perfection. You’re gonna love this one for the summer!
INGREDIENTS:
2 oz tequila
1.5 oz plum puree
3/4 oz orange liqueur
1/2 oz lime juice
1/2 oz hot honey syrup
METHOD:
Brush the side of your glass with chamoy or hot honey syrup, then sprinkle with tajin. Place glass in the freezer to set.
Add ingredients to cocktail shaker. Add ice, and shake until chilled.
Double strain into glass filled with ice. Garnish with a slice of fresh plum, and enjoy!
Plum Puree:
Combine 1 cup plums, peeled and chopped, and 1/2 cup water in blender. Blend until smooth.
Hot Honey Syrup:
1/2 cup hot honey (I like to do 1/4c hot honey and 1/4c honey)
1/2 cup water
Combine honey and water in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir until honey dissolves.
Allow to cool, then transfer into an airtight container.
