Charred Strawberry Mezcalita

Would you be mad at me if I said I think strawberries are better than peaches?

Maybe it’s because I grew up near strawberry farms in California (shoutout to Harry’s Berries!) but they’ve always been my absolute favorite fruit! I could eat them by the carton — in fact, I do eat them by the carton!

Strawberry is also an AMAZING flavor pairing with mezcal. The sweet and smoky factor here is just top tier. And giving them a little char here made them even juicier!

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 oz mezcal

  • 4-5 charred strawberries

  • 1 oz lime juice

  • 1/2 oz agave

METHOD:

Start by charring your berries- either on a grill or on a frying pan on your stove. Allow them to cool before using.

Brush the side of your glass with agave, then sprinkle with salt. Place glass in the freezer to set.

Add charred strawberries and lime juice to a cocktail shaker. Muddle until berries are broken down.

Add mezcal and agave. Add ice, then shake until chilled.

Double strain into your prepped glass filled with ice. Garnish with another charred strawberry, and enjoy!
