Irish Redhead

By now you’ve probably heard of the French Blonde, so I think we should make an Irish Redhead cocktail a thing! I’ve never seen anyone make this riff on Taylor Swift’s favorite cocktail, and it feels so right with St. Patrick’s Day around the corner!

My recipe uses ruby red grapefruit juice to get that pretty red hue, and swaps out the gin for Irish whiskey. I think Blondie herself would approve in a big way!

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 oz Irish whiskey

  • 2 oz lillet blanc

  • 1 oz elderflower liqueur

  • 2 oz ruby red grapefruit juice

  • 2 dashes lemon bitters (can sub 1/2 oz lemon juice)

METHOD:

Add Irish whiskey, lillet blanc, elderflower liqueur, ruby red grapefruit juice and lemon bitters to a cocktail shaker. Add ice, then shake until chilled.

Strain into chilled coupe or martini glass. Garnish with lemon wheel, and enjoy!
